(Housewife and Avid Marathon-Runner) Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. This homemaker and part-time marathon runner came in for treatment for her foot bunion (with Dr Low Tze Choong) and knee problems (with Dr Saw Khay Yong) In October 2007, she had a lateral release and multiple drillings to her left knee and is now undergoing physiotherapy. “It's fantastic,” she says. “The best thing I've ever done. I'm coming back for the right leg so it can't be that bad.” Charmaine believes the unique stem-cell harvesting technique KLSMC employs has sped up the recovery of her knee. It is the only hospital she knows that uses stem-cell technology for orthopaedic surgery. The after-care treatment is also outstanding, an important factor to her as she has to come here everyday, 3 hours a day for 4 weeks. “I've been to physiotherapists in many countries,” she says. “But here, they really know what they’re doing and they're a lot warmer. It's not like, ‘Okay, I'm done with you and let's go.’ Here the physiotherapists do most of the work themselves, and don't just leave it up to the aides.”
