MBBS (Malaya), MS Orth (UM), Fellow in Spine (Hong Kong)
He returned to Seremban General Hospital in 2002 and then worked as a lecturer in the University of Malaya from 2002 to 2004. He was an integral part of the spine team. He has been practising at Sri Kota Specialist Medical Centre since November 2004 and at KLSMC since October 2007. His work mainly involves spine and spine related problems. He is a proponent in minimally invasive spinal procedures and surgeries (MIS) as he believes that patients' comfort is of utmost important as MIS allows their problems to be solved with minimal pain and immobility. Procedures such as Percutaneous Discectomy using Nucleoplasty, Dekompressor, Laser; Endoscopic Discectomy and related procedures; conventional surgeries using very small incision are considered MIS procedures. He is primarily trained in spine deformity correction (scoliosis, kyphosis). He has assisted and performed more than 150 cases of scoliosis surgery. He also has special interest in pain management with regards to the spine, especially failed back syndrome. Patients with chronic spinal pain can be managed with injections, radiofrequency, sacroiliac ablation and epiduralysis. He works very closely with physiotherapists as he believes most patients with spinal problems can recover with time and some effort (exercises and proper postures). That is the main reason why he chooses to work in KLSMC as it provides one of the best non-surgical recovery options in Malaysia.
